another post brought to you my by lovely blackberry! on relaxing beach days like these, i rarely lug around my big camera so i can spend more time soaking in the sunlight. we first spent lunch at a local taco joint and i got the faux phish mushroom burger. sooo tasty. then we stumbled upon this hidden tree house gallery where the owner lives and hosts paint parties in her humble tree house. how amazing it would be to wake up to that view and live amongst the leaves.

hanging out on the balboa boardwalk on a hot summer day, feeling like a colorful creamsicle with orange shorts and lighter hair. the houses around these neighborhoods are incredibly cute, especially with the specialty shops and quaint eateries sprinkled along side. we beat the heat and finished the day with reggae and pina colada shaved ice which spilled all over my crotch making it seem like i period stained myself (not pictured).

little shops filled with pastries, beautiful people with their dogs, outside cafes near the port, coffee on the balcony, picasso museum, open markets with fresh produce, fruit smoothies, and two days of a nasty stomach flu that left me lifeless in bed. i guess those spanish tapas just didn't vibe with me. on a side note, we're having such wonderful weather here in california and my radio finally works after one whole year of using my blackberry pandora in it's place. don't forget the simple joys of life!

probably one of my favorite cities of the whole trip.. strong belgium beer (including my new favorite duvel), quaint cobblestone alleyways, chillin at the wrong airport for 12 hours, strange french tv, meat locker bedroom, waking up to the most delicious vietnamese food i've ever had, amazing waffles and chocolates, friendly people, and quiet simple joys of slow living. i swear there's sprinkles of drugs in their food and drink since i was dazed and peacefully happy all the time.

we just finished our family dinner that ended up with us kids taking shots with my dad. give him half a bottle of patron and hilarious obscene stories come flying out. it was the first christmas my sister spent in california with us so this year it's extra special. the festivities continue throughout the weekend.. time to make some chocolate cheesecake for tomorrow. may the holidays bring you all joy and happiness to share with your loved ones.
